Butchie Index

The family name has been spelled many ways. On this page, we use the spelling we believe is most common among the descendants.

Europe, in the years of 1815 to 1817, had two major historical events transpiring. The entire continent was suffering from extreme weather, never-ending rains and heavy snows. The other event was Napoleon Bonaparte and the war he waged across Europe. They are separate events but touched each other briefly; changing the course many lives would take. Johannes Buetchi lived on the sunny side of Mt. Imier with excellent farmland, which he worked as a fief.

This section is dedicated to Johannes Buetchi and his descendants.

The following index connects to the pages for the descendants in this web site.
