Butchie Index

Europe, in the years of 1815 to 1817, had two major historical events transpiring. The entire continent was suffering from extreme weather, never-ending rains and heavy snows. The other event was Napoleon Bonaparte and the war he waged across Europe. They are separate events but touched each other briefly; changing the course many lives would take. Johannes Buetchi, son of Peter Buetchi, lived on the sunny side of Mt. Imier with excellent farmland, which he worked as a fief.

This section is dedicated to Peter Buetchi and his descendants.

The spelling of the name varied a great deal. Our intent is to maintain the spelling used by each individual.

The following index connects to the pages for the descendants in this web site.
